  Call For Entries:

"Targeted: The Subversion of Brand America" is an exhibit that focuses on corporate and brand logo parodies--but with a twist. All of the examples of logo parodies shall exist on t-shirts, hats or other clothing items and adorned by the folks who own them. Why focus on logos that appear on clothing? There is a particular statement being made by an individual who chooses to sport a brand on their body, identifying them with the product, its image, and values. The same is true for someone choosing to wear a logo parody, but for obviously different reasons.

The introductory essay for this exhibit will outline the origins of and our rising obsession with brand identification as well as its broader implications in terms of the exporting of popular culture and current globalization trends. Likewise, the essay will delve into the world of corporate and brand parody, anti-consumerism and the anti-globalization movement.

This is where you come in. I need your photos of people wearing logo parody t-shirts, etc., but I want to focus on the logo itself, not the person wearing it. The exhibit is all about logos parodies, but most importantly that they are worn on articles of clothing, as this forms the basis for the exhibit. Just fill the frame of your camera with the logo so that it's the most prominent object in the image. I hope to have at least 40 good pieces in order to launch the exhibit. So, go ahead and send me your high quality JPEG images to and include the following information about each piece:

    - Location (City, State, Country)
    - Your Name
    - Your Email Address (this will not be posted, it's just for me to contact you)
    - Your Postal Mailing Address (so I can send you a weird thank you gift)
    - Whether or not you wish to be credited on the site

If your entry is selected—as I'm sure most will be—I'll send you some cool stickers and junk provided you give me your mailing address.

Thanks & happy hunting!
