Visual Junk Journal

Part Of The Problem

You might soon see this sticker appearing in a town near you. There are 1,000 in circulation now and another 1,000 on the way soon. The purpose? "Whatever you want it to mean" is what I tell the people I hand them to. Now, I'm offering them to you to stick on whatever you deem necessary. Sick of those dumb Bud Light ads? Gas-guzzling SUVs pissing you off? Slap a sticker on them. Fed up with parking meters? The subway never on time? Slap 'em with the message that means something different to everyone who sees it.

I'll send you 10 super-high-quality vinyl stickers for $3 bucks, postage paid anywhere in the world — if you promise to email me images of what you stuck them on. These pictures will appear in an online gallery here. Be sure to tell me the city/state where the offense occurred. Here are the details:

U.S. CASH MONEY ONLY, no checks or money orders PLEASE. Any other form of payment will be returned. The best way to send cash is concealed in a letter sized piece of paper and folded three times and slipped into an envelope. This should only cost you .37 cents to mail.

Send $3 CASH to:

More Goats

More Junk On The Way

I've been a bad boy and haven't kept you folks updated with the latest in visual junk banter. Mostly due to my traveling to London 3 times in the past month to install some gigantic wall graphics in Harrods of all places. It's a long story. Anyway, there's plenty in the works over here, namely the Targeted exhibit, which is moving along quite nicely. Many of you have sent me some fine examples of re-branded brands, but I need more! Please check the Call For Entries page and send me those digital pics. Don't forget to include all the pertinent info.

Hand-Painted & Hand-Crafted Signs

Fossils in our Visual Landscape

A rather large sampling of the hundreds of photos that I've snapped over the years, in places like New York City, New Orleans, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and more.

Cult of the Goat

Bock Beer Labels and a Homonym Gone Awry

Devilish goats rear their ugly heads in these sinister looking beer labels from the U.S. and around the world. Includes a little bit of history on where this strange iconography came from.

45rpm Record Label Designs

Feast your eyes on this assortment of about one hundred labels and logos dating from the 1950s to the 1970s. I've been collecting these for a long time and thought I would share some of my favorites.

Un-Conventional Signage

2004 New York City RNC Protest Signs

Here are my photos of the best signs, stickers and slogans displayed during the Republican National Convention protest march in New York City.
